Biz Stone<\/a>, one of the co-founders of Twitter, just announced<\/a>\u00a0that he\u2019s returning to the company he helped start. Stone left\u00a0Twitter in 2011<\/a> to pursue\u00a0new projects with Obvious Corporation, a venture\u00a0that also included fellow Twitter co-founder\u00a0Ev Williams.<\/p>\n Excited to have Biz’s energy and heart back at Twitter! #BizIsBack<\/a> https:\/\/t.co\/7Cc0snAP2c<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 jack (@jack) May 16, 2017<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n While he was somewhat vague about what exactly his new role will be, Stone\u00a0explained that his top focus will be guiding company culture. He also clarified that he\u2019s not replacing anyone at the company:<\/p>\n It\u2019s important that everyone understands the whole story of Twitter and each of our roles in that story. I\u2019ll shape the experience internally so it\u2019s also felt outside the company . \u2013 Biz Stone<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n About a month ago Stone sold his most recent\u00a0startup, Jelly, to Pinterest<\/a>. He said at the time that he wasn\u2019t required to stay on with Pinterest, so\u00a0was available\u00a0for\u00a0new opportunities.<\/p>\n Stone said he was recently back at Twitter as a \u201cspecial guest\u201d for an event open to employees, where current CEO and fellow co-founder Jack Dorsey \u2014 another founder who left and then returned<\/a> \u2014\u00a0asked him onstage if he wanted to come back and work at Twitter. After some employee cheers, and a private clarification that Jack was in fact being serious, he\u00a0accepted.<\/p>\n Twitter diehards are\u00a0reacting positively to the news \u2014 many think that Twitter needs to get back to its roots, and what better way to do it than bringing back a co-founder? The market also seems to be happy.
