Facebook\u2019s been steadily growing its Developer Circles<\/a>\u00a0initiative\u00a0in recent months and today the company provided an update on growth and announced a new partnership with Udacity during its annual F8 conference. Developer Circles is Facebook\u2019s community-driven initiative for engaging with and training developers.<\/p>\n

Facebook\u2019s VP of Partnerships,\u00a0Ime Archibing, explained that over 80 percent of engineers\u00a0involved with Developer Circles are based internationally. This growth is healthy, but it\u2019s not without its own unique logistical challenges. As of now, community leaders within Developer Circles help organize training, but with a new Udacity partnership, Facebook will be\u00a0augmenting learning with formalized programs.<\/p>\n

These new mobile developer courses will help get engineers-in-training up to speed\u00a0on Facebook tools like Account Kit for building one-step logins into apps. Udacity says that the courses will be free and require about ten\u00a0hours each to complete.<\/p>\n

Topics could eventually\u00a0cover\u00a0the basics of using\u00a0React and building bots in Messenger.\u00a0The courses will be available within Developer Circles Facebook Groups and through the Udacity site.<\/p>\n

This is not Udacity\u2019s first partnership with a major tech company to\u00a0produce content. Back at Google I\/O in 2015, Udacity announced that it was working to create an Android Development Nanodegree.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n
