Although Apple revealed the iPhone 13<\/a><\/span>, 13 Mini<\/span>, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max<\/span> at its September launch event<\/a><\/span>, anticipation for the company’s next event is already growing, and the latest buzz comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who says new MacBook Pro<\/span> models with an updated version of\u00a0Apple’s M1 processor<\/span>\u00a0are likely coming in the next month<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Responding to a question about new Macs<\/span> on Twitter, Gurman previously said he expects “there will be two events<\/a>” from Apple this fall, as usual, and the second event could focus on new Mac models and more iPads<\/span>. Gurman also expects the\u00a0AirPods 3<\/span>\u00a0 to\u00a0debut by the end of this year<\/a>, and several other products to arrive in 2022 including the new AirPods Pro, an updated iPad Pro, revamped Mac Pros and MacBook Airs with Apple Silicon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At the company’s September event<\/span>, Apple unveiled its new iPhone 13 lineup<\/a><\/span> alongside the Apple Watch 7<\/span>, iPad Mini 6<\/span> and updated entry-level iPad<\/span>. The\u00a0iPhone 13<\/a><\/span>\u00a0lineup mirrors last year’s iPhone 12<\/span> collection with standard, Mini<\/span>, Pro and Pro Max<\/span> versions. The updated iPhone runs on iOS 15<\/span>\u00a0and features a few camera upgrades<\/span>, upped storage, a new A15 Bionic processor and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Prior to Apple’s latest launch event, the company hosted two other events earlier in 2021. The first event was in April, where we saw new iPad upgrades<\/span>, colorful iMacs<\/span>, AirTag trackers<\/span>, a purple iPhone 12<\/span> and more. Then, two months later, it held the annual WWDC<\/a><\/span> developers event, where we saw a first look at iOS 15<\/span>, MacOS Monterey<\/span> (aka MacOS 12), WatchOS 8<\/span> and iPadOS 15<\/span>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But what about this rumored October Apple event? Will we see a new MacBook Pro<\/span> or the AirPods 3<\/span>? New Macs<\/span>? Read on for everything we know so far about a potential fourth Apple event happening this fall, including a rumored date and which products Apple could unveil. When is the next Apple event? It could be in October

Apple typically hosts three to four events every year with a spring event, a summer developer conference and one or two more events in the fall. The fall events are usually held in September and October. The September event, which this year fell on Sept. 14<\/a><\/span>, tends to feature new iPhones and Apple Watch upgrades, while the October event typically features new Macs and iPads, which tallies with Gurman’s prediction.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Apple’s event pattern slightly shifted in 2020 due to production delays during the pandemic<\/span>. Last year’s September Apple event unveiled the Apple Watch 6<\/span>, Apple Watch SE<\/span> and updated iPad models<\/span> — but no new iPhone. The company later revealed the iPhone 12<\/span> in October. Last year’s Apple event was also online-only due to the pandemic. A livestream was available as usual through the company’s website.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But this year, Apple returned to its usual September schedule with another virtual event. Since Apple has often hosted an October event throughout the past decade (with the exception of 2019, 2017 and 2015), it’s likely another Apple event is just around the corner.\u00a0<\/p>\n

New products we expect: AirPods 3, Macs and more<\/h2>\n

Apple already unveiled a slew of hardware and software upgrades during its previous 2021 events, including the iPhone 13<\/a><\/span>, Apple Watch 7<\/span>, iPad Mini 6<\/span> and a new\u00a0entry-level iPad<\/span>. But, there are still a few things we expect<\/span> the tech giant to announce in the fall. We hope to see the AirPods 3<\/span>, a larger iMac powered by Apple’s M1 chip<\/span>, a more affordable Apple Display and a new MacBook Pro and Mac Pro<\/span> with a rumored update to Apple’s M1 chip. We’re also on the lookout for an Apple competitor to the\u00a0Amazon Echo Show<\/span> smart display, a soundbar with a built-in Apple TV and maybe an Apple AR\/VR headset<\/span>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

AirPods 3<\/h3>\n

Apple’s AirPods could be getting an update sometime this year, according to an\u00a0earlier report from Bloomberg<\/span>. Rumors suggest the\u00a0AirPods 3<\/span>\u00a0will have similar features to the\u00a0AirPods Pro<\/span>, such as\u00a0spatial audio support<\/span>, a shorter stem, interchangeable tips and a smaller charging case. Here’s what we hope to see when the AirPods 3 are revealed<\/span>, and here’s how we think the AirPods 3 will compare with the AirPods Pro<\/span>.<\/p>\n

New MacBook Pros, Mac Pros, Mac Mini, iMac and Apple Display<\/h3>\n

Last year, Apple announced that it would be producing its own chip, known as the M1, to power its Mac. Since then, there has been speculation that\u00a0Apple may soon announce a new version<\/span>\u00a0of its processor for the new MacBook Pro or Mac Pro.<\/p>\n

Apple also previously announced\u00a0a new iMac powered by the M1 processor<\/span>, but it was only the smaller 24-inch model. Bloomberg has reported that\u00a0Apple is working on processor updates<\/span>\u00a0for both the Mac Mini and 27-inch iMac.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Apple may also be working on a more affordable version of its\u00a0Pro Display XDR<\/span>\u00a0that was originally released in 2019. Bloomberg reported in January that a cheaper Apple monitor was in “early development<\/span>.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

We could see some brand-new devices from Apple this year. This includes the possibility of an\u00a0Apple competitor<\/span>\u00a0to the\u00a0Amazon Echo Show<\/span>\u00a0that would fuse an entry-level iPad with a speaker, a\u00a0soundbar equipped with built-in Apple TV<\/span>\u00a0similar to\u00a0Roku’s soundbar<\/span>\u00a0and an\u00a0Apple augmented- or virtual-reality headset<\/span>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
