A senior staff member of Oracle Corp., George A. Polisner, has resigned<\/a>\u00a0after the enterprise tech titan\u2019s co-CEO, Safra Catz, joined the Trump transition team and stated her enthusiasm for the president-elect.<\/p>\n

As we reported last week, Trump recently convened a meeting of tech leaders\u00a0<\/a>and his children <\/a>at Trump Tower in New York.<\/p>\n

Prior to the\u00a0meeting Catz issued a public statement<\/a> that said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI plan to tell the president-elect that we are with him and will help in any way we can. If he can reform the tax code, reduce regulation and negotiate better trade deals, the U.S. technology industry will be stronger and more competitive than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the meeting, Catz accepted an invitation to join\u00a0Trump\u2019s transition team.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

A veteran of enterprise tech, and a progressive political strategist, Polisner previously\u00a0held a wide variety of positions at Oracle. During different turns\u00a0there since 1993, he had worked at Oracle\u00a0in\u00a0product development, customer advocacy, program management and most recently managed cloud services.<\/p>\n

He made his resignation known\u00a0yesterday to the company and the public by publishing his letter on LinkedIn. There he criticized Trump for:\u00a0planning to\u00a0dismantle social security and medicare; disrespecting Gold Star military families; and \u00a0\u201cstok[ing] fear, hatred and violence toward people of color, Muslims and immigrants,\u201d among other things.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not with President-elect Trump and I am not here to help him in any way.<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0In fact \u2013when his policies border on the unconstitutional, the criminal and the morally unjust \u2013I am here to oppose him in every possible and legal way.<\/p>\n

Therefore I must resign from this once great company.\u201d<\/p>\n

Polisner has also created a petition on NotWhoWeAre.us<\/a> for other\u00a0Oracle employees who many want to publicly protest\u00a0Trump and Catz\u2019s involvement in his transition team.<\/p>\n
